If you missed Vertical last night, here is what we watched:
If you want, you can read and discuss these questions:
- Why do you think our actions matter? What do you think of the saying, “It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you’re not hurting anyone?”
- Romans 6:1-2 says, “Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?” Even if you have died to sin, you will still make mistakes because it is part of your sinful nature.
- Have you ever wanted to do something that you knew was wrong, but tried finding someone who agreed and told you it was a good idea? In 2 Timothy 4:3 Paul says, “For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.” Do you have someone in your life that will tell you the truth rather than what you want to hear? Why is that important?
- In Luke 20:47 Jesus said, “Yet they [religious hypocrites] shamelessly cheat widows out of their property and then pretend to be pious by making long prayers in public. Because of this, they will be severely punished.” Often times people put on an act for their friends and family. What could be some of the consequences of living your life this way? If you find yourself on this path, what should you do?
