God created all of us the way we are for a reason. We are all masterpieces made by the Creator of all things. Some of us are good at sports, some are good at math, and some are good at counting backwards by seven from one hundred. This leads me to what I am for, #forGOOD. I am for ALL students, no matter their athletic ability, academic ability, or any ability. Living in a world where you have to look, act, and learn in a certain way it is hard for students who do not do things the typical way to feel like they belong and feel like the masterpieces that God created them to be. When I was in high school I was introduced to a boy who would change my life named Isaac. Isaac does not communicate using words; instead he uses some sign language and picture diagrams. He also needs to wear braces on his legs to help him walk. When I was introduced to him (and had the pleasure of spending two weeks getting to know him) my world was forever changed. God used Isaac to show me to love all people no matter their abilities or disabilities. As I’ve grown older I’ve realized that we all have special needs of some kind, some are just more noticeable. I want to make sure that ALL students are loved like Jesus loves us. I am challenging myself (and the people around me) to make sure that they reach out to students who do not have anyone to reach out to or who express themselves differently from others. I challenge you all to do the same thing. What are you going to be #forGOOD for this year?
